Sumario:Abstract: In this article, the performance of some books about national history in the publishing market and among non-specialized publics in Argentina, during the last century will be examined. In the assumed perspective, this question is not only linked to cultural history, nor only to the history of book, but is related to the history of historiography, since the production of books which aspire to circulate beyond the specialists is a testimony of the state of the historiographical institutions, of their relationship with the wider world of culture and finally, of their links with politics. The study focuses on some cases and some significant moments, in a period that covers, approximately, from 1916 to the present.
