Sumario:This work proposes a critical review through a number of texts that make up a vast discursive corpus built around Eva Perón. We initially point out the mythical nature of her figure and the antagonistic perceptions driven by such nature, and then approach some representations that consolidated her black legend by emphasizing the notion of pretense. Before conducting a strictly literary analysis, we explore a variety of papers which, mainly from the nineties, focused on the links between politics and popular mass culture, conceived as two spheres whose interaction governed and still governs possible constructions of Evita. At last, we identify recurring operations and elements in a literary series encompassing works by Jorge Luis Borges, Copi, Néstor Perlongher, César Aira and Daniel Herrendorf, departing from her representation as a “blonde doll” to finally reach her modeling as a “madwoman of the house”.
