The dialectics between financial globalization and the entrenchment of boundaries, the building of walls and deportations, work like narrative material for authors interested in this new dynamics of cartography. After reading the European novel Platform (2001) by Michel Houellebecq and LatinAmerican 2666 (2004) by Roberto Bolaño, we analyze how spatiality and politics of fiction are engraved in the global narrative of these different contexts. We consider that money, from the quid pro quo trope of commodity fetishism, is the great articulator of these stories while the figure of the (in)visible body as a fascinating object of consumption bursts in these phantasmagorias as a remain of the real: a hurt, threatened body, the other that is written in the frontiers. En este trabajo proponemos indagar las tensiones en la configuración de las fronteras geográficas y simbólicas en la novela contemporánea. La dialéctica entre los procesos de globalización financiera y el reforzamiento de límites, levantamiento de muros y expulsión de migrantes funcionan como material narrativo para autores interesados en las dinámicas de estas nuevas cartografías. A partir de la lectura de Plataforma (2001) del escritor francés Michel Houellebecq y de “La parte de los crímenes” de la novela 2666 (2004) del chileno Roberto Bolaño analizamos la inscripción de la espacialidad y las políticas de la ficción en narrativas globales de un autor europeo y otro latinoamericano. Consideramos que el dinero, a partir del tropo del quid pro quo del fetichismo de la mercancía, es el gran articulador de estos relatos, en tanto que la figura del cuerpo (in)visibilizado como objeto fascinante y de consumo irrumpe dentro de estas fantasmagorías como resto de lo real, cuerpo herido, amenazado, el otro que se escribe en la frontera.
