Sumario:In the Roberto Bolaño’s short story “El policía de las ratas” literary references include from detective story to Kakfa. In this paper we aim to follow the trace of Kafka, which leads us to Siegfried Kracauer, Kafka’s reader and critic and researcher of detective genre. We propose an interpretation of Bolaño’s short story in which the uncertainty of the crime is conected with the role of art and rationality in the modernity.
