Emphasis is placed on the relevance of this issue today, given the resurgence of certain ideas or conceptions that currently have social and political consequences. The discussion is limited to defining a field of intersection between both discourses, focusing on two fundamental issues: the problem of freedom as the individual's will and, on the other hand, a non-deterministic model of the State. The article seeks to explore some of the implications of these ideas, aiming to draw conclusions regarding the role of university discourse in this context. El siguiente artículo pretende identificar y/o proponer algunas relaciones entre el psicoanálisis y el pensamiento liberal. Se hace hincapié en la pretensión de actualidad de esta problemática, dado el resurgimiento de algunas ideas o concepciones que en el presente comportan consecuencias sociales y políticas. El planteo se limita a definir un campo de intersección entre ambos discursos, ubicando dos cuestiones fundamentales: el problema de la libertad como voluntad del individuo y, por otro lado, un modelo de Estado no determinista. Se intentará explorar algunas de sus implicaciones, buscando extraer consecuencias respecto del rol del discurso universitario en dicho contexto.
