Sumario:This article aims to identify and/or propose some relationships between psychoanalysis and liberal thought. Emphasis is placed on the relevance of this issue today, given the resurgence of certain ideas or conceptions that currently have social and political consequences. The discussion is limited to defining a field of intersection between both discourses, focusing on two fundamental issues: the problem of freedom as the individual's will and, on the other hand, a non-deterministic model of the State. The article seeks to explore some of the implications of these ideas, aiming to draw conclusions regarding the role of university discourse in this context.
