Both Lacan’s lecture and Freud’s address in Budapest allow us to conceive psychoanalyst’s stance when faced by the failure of therapeutical technologies and today’s concerns. En una conferencia en Milán en 1967 Lacan diferencia al Psicoanálisis de los otros discursos por la vía de lo que ellos hacen con la realidad y lo real. Esto puede relacionarse con la afirmación de Colette Soler de que en la actualidad estamos en una época de traumatismos por la fragilidad de los discursos y la frecuencia con que se rompen los semblantes en los que ellos se sostienen. Tanto la citada conferencia de Lacan como la alocución de Freud en Budapest nos permiten pensar la posición del psicoanalista ante el fracaso de las tecnologías terapéuticas y las problemáticas actuales.
