Sumario:The high consequences of the oil price war started on the 9th of March 2020 within a context of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 crisis should encourage us to rethink the grounds of our energy policy. Thus, global warming could be the source of even more profound changes in the long term with impacts both on energy sector and on international relations. Then, the purpose of this article is to provide reflections on the kinds of insertion of Argentina in the world according to different scenarios of energy transition. The opportunities and challenges of valuing Vaca Muerta unconventional resources and natural resources allowing an energy mix with a low carbon footprint are analyzed.
