| Sumario: | At the beginning of May 1928, port dockers in the city of Rosario went on strike demanding a salary increase. The conflict was very important because, in an environment of relative “social peace” at the national level, it unleashed a wave of strikes that spread throughout the year, not only in Rosario, but also in many places in the province of Santa Fe. This work focuses on the analysis of this strike from the written press, taking two types of newspapers as axes: La Capital and La Nación, on the one hand, and América and Reflejos, on the other. Although all of them dealt with the topic intensely, they did so from different approaches, which is why the visions of both types of newspapers were contrasted, framing La Capital and La Nación as “serious press” and América and Reflejos as “new press” or “modern press”. It also addresses, although subsidiarily, some aspects of the degree of violence and repression that was reached in said strike.
