description This paper analyzes the construction of the discursive subjects of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: the State, the private sector, and civil society. We started from the sociolinguistics approach to investigate the discursive representations that operate in the definition of the subjects involved in the construction of sustainability. An inductive methodology was applied to postulate the analytical categories that best allow the qualitative description of the 2030 Agenda. The main finding is that, while the State is characterized as an active subject in the search for development, civil society tends to be described as a subject without agency and a passive recipient of public policies. At the same time, the private sector is defined as a key subject that is exempt from external regulation. Likewise, global trade is understood as the main transversal axis of the agenda, which is why the subjects described are positioned in relation to it. These results show the predominance of an economic perspective, which runs the risk of prioritizing capital accumulation over social development and environmental protection.

El presente trabajo analiza la construcción de los sujetos discursivos de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible: el Estado, el sector privado y la sociedad civil. Se partió del enfoque de la sociolingüística para indagar en las representaciones discursivas que operan en la definición de los sujetos implicados en la construcción de la sostenibilidad. Se aplicó una metodología inductiva para postular las categorías analíticas que mejor permitieran la descripción cualitativa de la Agenda 2030. El principal hallazgo es que, mientras se caracteriza al Estado como un sujeto activo en la búsqueda por el desarrollo, la sociedad civil tiende a ser descripta como un sujeto sin agencia y receptor pasivo de políticas públicas, al tiempo que el sector privado es definido como un sujeto clave que se encuentra exento de regulación externa. Asimismo, el comercio global es entendido como el principal eje transversal a la agenda, por lo que los sujetos descriptos se posicionan en relación con él.
