Sumario:This article presents the results of an investigation into the social constructionof death through an interdisciplinary dialogue with contributions from the social and human sciences. Using a qualitative research design based on the analysis of narratives from an interpretative biographical framework, the research traced those imaginary meanings that convey and shape social imaginaries about death. To this end, we delved into the experiences of older people around five axes: spiritual and religious beliefs; desired death; bodily destiny; communication about death and the dead; and communication between the living and the dead. In other words, it offers a synthesis of the analysis carried out on each axis, showing how they form part of the social imaginaries about death in old age. The contribution is based on the contribution to knowledge about the broad field of studies on death and dying.
