Sumario:The aim of this article is to analyze the 1969 comic “Apúrele a llegar a la Luna antes de destruir la Tierra” of Mexicancaricaturist Eduardo del Río (Rius). It can be considered as an exemplum of the critic vision of the middle XX century, which leads to the current environmental movements. This work describes the interpretative model of the comic: thecontradiction between the economic and political resources to afford the travel to the Moon and the persistence of structural social problems than undermine the Human Rights of the population. The half-century ago critics of Rius find its reference in the current discussion about sustainable development.
