Sumario:This conversation with José Castillo Ruiz explores the path towards the configuration of Agrarian Heritage as a cultural asset recognizing the significance of the set of assets linked to agricultural activity. It deals with different aspects of the process; it does so from its beginning to the current situation focusing on the challenges for urban planning and public administrations in different contexts. He addresses what this means as an element for the development of cultural tourism and the risks derived from it. The aims of this interview are to disseminate the new concept; and, to know its state of consolidation, its value for the development of more sustainable urban environments and, in that sense, the current challenges from the disciplinary point of view. Castillo Ruiz is a key referent in the subject due to his professional history; his contribution to the theoretical and normative frameworks as well as his extensive and committed dissemination work are highlighted.
