As its northern limit he recognizes the locality of Amaicha (Tucumán), and as the southern - that of San Julián (Chubut).
To the Known species - only four, according to him - he adds a fifth: Pterocactus araucanus nv. sp., apparently endemic in Chubut and Neuquén.
