| Sumario: | This paper reveals that politics, understood as the key to interpret social life, is of fundamental importance in Vanini’s thought. Politics governs, conditions and determines, indeed, habits, traditions, beliefs, ways of thinking, religion, etc. In this sense, religion as a human product, is considered by Vanini as a very effective instrument for political control used by policymakers and the powerful to lead and govern the people. In Vanini’s work is possible to clearly see an ethical and a political proposal which is completely isolated from any metaphysical-theological reference. |
