From this perspective, the application of participatory approaches in the recognition and valuation of regional heritage under tourism logic and by local actors gave rise to specific workshops in two cities in the Central Dairy Basin of Argentina, San Francisco and Rafaela. Methodologically, a workshop was designed and repeated in both locations, and the results were analyzed comparatively. These findings showed that participatory methods are useful in finding valuable information about the feelings and experiences of people who identified themselves as custodians of their heritage and who are involved and interested in its future. They also highlighted the scope and limitations of participation in processes that involve reflection on heritage action strategies, while encouraging a review of their application in future initiatives and other cases with similar realities and scales.
