The first article characterizes the motivations and conditions of mobility of tourists and national visitors in the Lakes District (Región de Los Lagos) in southern Chile; the Chilean authors use a quantitative perspective for the exploratory research. The second article proposes an update of the ten-year tourism development plan for the municipality of Barrancabermeja in Santander, Colombia; the methodology used in the research, by the Colombian author, contains a diagnosis with secondary sources and fieldwork that includes interaction with actors in the sector, interviews, workshops and a survey. The bibliographic review is about the book ‘Planificación turística I: Formulación. Reflexiones desde el oeste argentino". En el octavo ejemplar, correspondiente al volumen 5 - número 1, de la Revista de Turismo e Identidad les presentamos dos artículos y una reseña bibliográfica. El primero de los artículos caracteriza las motivaciones y condiciones de movilidad de turistas y visitantes nacionales en la Región de Los Lagos en el sur de Chile; utilizando los autores chilenos, para la investigación exploratoria, una perspectiva cuantitativa. El segundo de los artículos propone una actualización del Plan decenal de desarrollo turístico del Municipio de Barrancabermeja situado en Santander, Colombia; la metodología utilizada en la investigación, por el autor colombiano, contiene un diagnóstico con fuentes secundarias y un trabajo de campo que incluye la interacción con actores del sector, entrevistas, talleres y la realización de una encuesta. La reseña bibliográfica es acerca de libro “Planificación turística I: Formulación. Reflexiones desde el oeste argentino”.
