Sumario:The objective of this paper is to analyze the implementation of the third mining frontier in Sonora and Zacatecas. The analysis is carried out from the category ofmining drama, which addresses the underpinning of the dominant economic system and the domination policies in territories with a strong mining tradition. This allows the drama to be put in perspective, which refers to the economic boom, labor overexploitation, land and water dispossession, environmental devastation and social responses. Subsequently, the labor and the eco-territorial mining conflicts identified in Sonora and Zacatecas are characterized, and they show that the disputes are dueto the control of labor and territory.
