Sumario:In the paper we propose to review the fundamental concepts of structuralism, to see how they delineated a whole form of analysis in the field of literary theory and finally to discuss the theoretical division between structuralism and post-structuralism. For this purpose, we will briefly talk about structuralism at a general level and especially in literary theory, to finally observe which were the specific methodological developments derived from this epistemological conception. Finally, a comparison will be made with the developments of the so-called post-structuralism, in order to discuss whether the differences between the two terms in the field of literary theory-criticism justify a real division.
