Our hypothesis is that García Lorca figures himself in his American letters as a child and from that position of enunciation builds his story about the experience of the trip. Our work reviews some of the central categories to understand the problem of childhood in literature, analyzes the letters that allow reading children's figurations and traces some relationships with the poetic work of the Granada-born man
