Sumario:This paper presents the first results from the lithic analysis of the site Quebrada del Chiquero (Dept. Coronel Pringles, San Luis). The surveys were originally designed to record the numerous rock art panels in the ravine, but also identified a neighboring sector with a concentration of archaeological material on thesurface. Fieldwork included detailed mapping, transects, and stratified excavations, in addition to technotypological analyses of lithic artifacts in the laboratory. The results show that lithic production activities were carried out and many technological strategies were used. Quartz is the main raw material with a minoritypresence of non-local rocks. Finally, it is concluded that the tasks of reducing nodules and formatting and maintaining artifacts took place in different areas of the site.
