Sumario:This article tries to question some classic and new theories about fantasy and tries to link them to some new conceptions about realism. In order to accomplish this tag, we will take Derrida’s genre conception, this means to think text as participating and not belonging to a certain genre. These reflections come up from the analysis of some works written by Marcelo Cohen and Alberto Laiseca. These writers and their works have been considered “realistic”, although some fantastic elements can be found in them. Considering also the reading response expected by these writers and their reflections about the nowadays Literature abilities over possible readers, this article will question not only theories about fantasy that are based on its opposition to realism, but also if it is accurate to use the concept of “realism” to describe recent Argentine Literature.
