Sumario:Today we live in the virtual global community of the Internet and we are all its users. For this reason, the Guaman Poma website of the Royal Library of Copenhagen (The Guaman Poma Website -Det Kongelige Bibliotek: <http://www.kb.dk/permalink/2006/poma/info/es/frontpage.htm>) is extremely useful. At the time of its creation, two decades ago, it was a pioneering project in the fields of Latin American studies. Today, however, there are many anonymous and unreliable websites and pages regarding the author and his work. In contrast, the construction of the Guaman Poma website was the result of an international collaboration of institutions and individuals. I recall here that history, that of Guaman Poma and his Nueva corónica y buen gobierno, the history of the autograph manuscript written and drawn by his own hand as well as the route that it took from Santiago de Chipao to Madrid and then on to Copenhagen. Where possible I will cite sources and studies that are available on the Guaman Poma website. Although I customarily reproduce Guaman Poma’s drawings where pertinent, I will not do so here, again to encourage the reader to make use of the Royal Library’s website.
