| Sumario: | In recent years, archaeology has transformed its traditional theoretical and methodological approaches. Journeys, excavations and the recovery of objects are no longer necessarily considered as structuring elements of the disciplinary work. We contribute to this disciplinary revision by presenting an archaeological excavation practice at the Museo Histórico Provincial de Rosario. Our case study was based on the “Wagner” archaeological collection, prepared by the French brothers Emilio Roger and Duncan Ladislao Wagner especially to be sent to Rosario. By understanding the museum as an archaeological site, we set ourselves the task of recontextualizing dispersed elements (pieces and documents), which contribute to the tasks of ordering and managing the collection. In this sense, the tasks carried out allowed us to specify the number of objects that make up the collection, to understand the diversity of sites from which they come, and to minimize the levels of dispersion, improving their handling and conservation conditions. |
