| Sumario: | This article aims to describe and analyze, from a qualitative perspective, the path taken in the implementation of prison management projects in the Argentine federal system. In this way, practices, senses and central elements of the construction and institutional organization of this state agency that has shown throughout its history adherence to models focused on humanism, correctionalism and risk control are highlighted. The uses and implementation of these management plans guided and currently guide the work and chores of prison staff as well as model the forms adopted by the so-called prison treatment for the social readaptation of persons deprived of their liberty. The analysis of this set of practices and regulations related to management plans in the Federal Penitentiary Service can help to make visible the specific forms adopted by the coexistence of the resocializing discourse and the paradigm of a prison focused on the “control” and containment of risks such as recidivism. |
