Sumario:This article presents the theoretical and methodological bases of the lithic technological studies from the French prehistorical school, following (in this specific case) the guidelines developed by J. Pelegrin, from the CNRS Research Laboratory of Technologie et Ethnologie des Mondes PrehistoriqueS (UMR 8068 TEMPS). A set of knapped lithic from the archaeological site of Yurac Corral (Ayacucho, Peru), had been chosen for the application of this principles. The lithic set presented here is part of a larger assemblage that was analysed in the PhD dissertation carried out by L. Valenzuela Leyva, directed by J. Pelegrin. Although Yurac Corral has barely been explored and therefore we do not have all the elements the complete the outlook of the knapping activity, we consider that the collection showed here represent a first approach to understand how this methodology could be applied. Thus, our article aims to introduce the reader to this methodology, considering the proposals are always open to discussion, according to different contexts.
