| Sumario: | The design of school buildings has been based on typological organizations that reflect the paradigms of an era. In Argentina, historically, the State has actively participated in the construction and conservation of these establishments. In San Juan, within the population of schools, one is recognized that stands out in number of repetitions, and that was elaborated at the national level within the framework of the Five-Year Plan (1945 to 1950). These school buildings were erected during the post-earthquake reconstruction period of 1944. The objective of this article is to identify and locate the infrastructures corresponding to said historical period and reflect on their current state of conservation. Likewise, a typological analysis is carried out regarding the characteristic functional, morphological, and technological aspects. It is concluded that these schools demand continuous maintenance and consolidation actions that allow them to achieve safety and habitability conditions to continue being part of the educational system. Likewise, it is urged that the remodeling and expansion works respect the original architectural guidelines in terms of rhythms and proportions and consider these school buildings as part of the provincial historical heritage. |
