| Sumario: | This work presents the mathematical model and the resolution of a real and everyday problem for students of the Engineering career who take basic subjects. A simple model is proposed to study the upward and downward movement of a non-overflowing liftgate, which slides on two horizontal rails and two vertical rails. The resolution of the mathematical model goes through different contents, geometry of curves, calculation and differential analysis, topology, optimization. The curve that represents the path of the gate in its opening movement is mathematically described, the technical results of the problem are presented and its importance as a methodological proposal is analyzed, in the context of problem-based learning and competence-based education. |
