| Sumario: | This article proposes a conceptual analysis that situates the university as a public good, hi-ghlighting the significant contributions generated by extension in the redefinition of its role
as a substantive practice of the university together with teaching and research. An approach
to the problem in question is proposed from an approach based on the dialogue of knowle-dge and the problematization of the institution as a participant in the epistemic violence
towards the plurality of views and knowledge. Ultimately, it is concluded that it is fundamen-tal, in the processes of curricular integration of the extensionist practice, that the institution
itself is transformed with a view to developing its functions within a more democratic andequitable model. |
