| Sumario: | This article aims to discuss the feminist trajectory of Conceição Cahú (1944-2006) in the newspapers Brasil Mulher and Nós Mulheres, between 1976 and 1978. I start from the premise that this important illustrator, painter, portraitist, cartoonist and caricaturist was an artist engaged in feminist causes in the context of dictatorship in Brazil. To develop this text, which intends to throw light on the unknown history of women in Brazilian art and graphic humor, newspapers are explored as sources, especially information on expedients, editorials, illustrations, graphic humor and comics by Cahú, as well as interviews with members of these two newspapers. |
