Sumario:This work is part of an ongoing investigation that inquires into the participation of women in comics in Colombia. From the model of construction of feminist genealogies, it aims to contribute to the visibility of women who occupied different roles in the production chain of Colombian comic strips during the eighties and nineties of the twentieth century. To do this, the information available on the history of Colombian comics is first reviewed, where some deficiencies and omissions are evident. It is then when it becomes relevant to carry out peripheral consultations of other areas such as caricature and illustration, as well as to lay the conceptual foundations provided by the international referents of feminist genealogy on female cartoonists. Finally, it is possible to draw points of connection between the past and the present of this field and to review some of the women who were involved in the Colombian comics of the 20th century by proposing a three-fold categorization.
