Sumario:The present paper focuses, on a theoretical level, on the relationship between the different dimensions of capitalism and its study by the social sciences. Similarly, on an epistemological level, it analyzes the relationship between the diagnose of a given time in terms of crisis and the consequent need for critique. Finally, on a methodological level, the present paper will conceptually address the different proposals that diverse global and specifically Latin-American authors have made of alternatives to the hegemonic mode of production.
