For this purpose, will be addressed some aspects of the paths and journeys through Africa with academic productions, journalistic and daily travel articles derived therefrom intellectuals like Gilberto Freyre, Pierre Verger, Luís da Câmara Cascudo and Roger Bastide. O presente artigo se propõe desvendar o caráter das relações que intelectuais nacionais e estrangeiros estabeleceram com o continente africano e a sua influência na formação do que tem sido denominado Pensamento Social Brasileiro durante a primeira metade do século XX. Com este intuito, serão abordados alguns aspectos das trajetórias e périplos pela África juto com as produções académicas, artigos jornalísticos e diários de viagens decorrentes das mesmas de intelectuais como Gilberto Freyre, Pierre Verger, Luís da Câmara Cascudo e Roger Bastide.
