Sumario:Risky substance use and offending behavior are highly prevalent among adolescents. This study aimed to evaluate the rates of both behaviors, their associations, and gender differences in 1069 adolescents in Córdoba (Argentina) using the International Self Report Delinquency Study. Approximately one-third of the adolescents reported engaging in risky substance use, while slightly less than half of them reported involvement in at least one offending behavior. Adolescents who reported risky substance use exhibited a higher prevalence of offending and an increased risk of engagement compared to those who didn’t report risky substance use. Male adolescents, both consumers and non-consumers, had a higher probability of engaging in offending behavior than women. There were no significant gender differences in risky substance use. This locally-sourced and up-to-date data provides valuable insights that can inform evidence-based public policies and programs tailored to the specific needs of this population.
