Sumario:The study aimed to determine the evidence of content validity, construct validity, internal consistency, and the standardization of the sexual machismo/sexism scale (EMS-Sexismo-12) in a Colombian adult population. Participants were 678 people between 18 and 79 years of age (M= 26.32; SD=10.76) (50% women) from the city of Cartagena de Indias. The scale presented a good adaptation to the context, the Hernandez-Nieto CVC inter-judge coherence index = .936, the confirmatory factor analysis showed a unifactorial structure with 10 items that presented adequate adjustment indexes (CFI= .94, PNFI= .72, RMSEA = .04, [.041 - .057]). Good internal consistency reliability, McDonald's Omega of .92 and Ordinal Alpha of .94. The standardization was done by sex due to the differences between scores (U= 40284.00 p< .05). 52.65% of subjects showed a medium or higher level of sexual machismo/sexism.
