Sumario:This study was carried out to complete the validation process of the International Affective Picture System (IAPS), providing normative data in the Argentine population for sets 6, 13, 16, 17, 18 and 20. A sample of 623 university students evaluated a total of 360 photographs in the three affective dimensions: valence, activation and dominance. In line with previous studies, the boomerang-shaped distribution of scores was found in the bidimensional affective space. Evidence that supports differences in affective evaluations based on sex and country of origin was found. The men showed higher levels of dominance against stimuli. On the other hand, the Argentineans showed a higher level of control compared to the Spanish and American scores.
