Sumario:In this paper I propose an analysis of the elements that constitute Diodorus’s Library of History that will allow us to understand the text as a work of universal history. I expose a journey through the history and peculiarities of the historiographical genre to situate the work as part of a literary tradition with its own model, but which presents at the same time specific elements in each of its exponents.
