Sumario:The objective of this article is to analyze the processes of political mediation in front of the Cordoba State of a significant group of agrarian corporations, in order to account for the speeches and representations that supported not only a certain vision about the State but also a crisis of representation of the political class. In this framework, statements to which historically the agrarian corporations had appealed were restated to draw diagnoses, demands and mobilize their social bases. At the same time, topical operatives such as business reconversion became operational to explain the need for the State and politicians to 'modernize' their practices. To this end, we use as source the press mainly, because it constitutes a regular mediation channel for the rural issue, and therefore a privileged space for the study of the representations and discourses constructed by these actors.
