Sumario:We analyze the performance of Argentina's automotive industry in the 1980s. We focus on the development of Renault Argentina. Significant changes occurred in this decade, both locally and internationally. Analysis of Renault allows the analysis of different aspects. Both for its history, being the continuation of the first major private enterprise in the automotive sector (IKA), as a subsidiary of a multinational firm, by their degree of integration, for its technology in the domestic market and the models launched, and its breeding strategy in the context of the crisis; We believe that their study may provide elements to interpret the conditions of the activity.We seek to understand this process in the context of changes, both at the branch and in general terms. The aim is to provide insights into the dynamics of Argentina industry.
