Assessment as a tool for measuring the teaching-learning process is a complex issue that has been subject to permanent debate. Teachers should be trained in this respect, besides debating and developing assessment tools that are valid, reliable, acceptable and economical.Methodology: the Free Course on Applied Pharmacology employs the Good Prescription Guide in order to develop abilities in the rational use of medicines. The condition of regular student is attained by passing a group test in the final days if the intensive five-week course. This test consists in solving two clinical cases (a simple one and a complex one) following the six steps of the rational therapeutic procedure. To assess this test, a graded and objective tool was developed, which was named “Guide Table” (see Table 1) and that was aimed at establishing priorities in the predominant pathologies that had been previously dealt with in the curricular group activities (practical exercises). Acceptance by students was confirmed by means of an end-of-course survey which allowed them to grade it as excellent, very good, good, regular or bad. |

La evaluación, como instrumento de medición del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, constituye un tema complejo y de permanente debate, por lo cual los docentes deben capacitarse, debatir y construir instrumentos de evaluación válidos, confiables, aceptables y de bajo costo.Métodos: El Curso Libre de Farmacología Aplicada utiliza la Guía de la Buena Prescripción con el objetivo de contribuir a desarrollar habilidades y destrezas para el uso razonado de los medicamentos. La regularidad en la materia se obtiene con un examen grupal realizado en los últimos dos días de cursado intensivo de cinco semanas. En dicho examen se resuelven dos casos clínicos con problemas de salud (un caso simple y otro complejo) a través de los seis pasos del proceso de la terapéutica razonada. Para su evaluación, se desarrolló un instrumento estructurado y objetivo. En una primera instancia el grupo docente desarrolló durante un largo proceso un instrumento denominado “tabla guía” (“(ver tabla 1) para establecer prioridades en el planteo de las patologías prevalentes previamente abordadas en las actividades grupales programáticas (trabajos prácticos). Los casos problema de evaluación fueron creados teniendo en cuenta dichas tablas con el objetivo de otorgar la mayor validez posible al instrumento. Y se asignó un puntaje a cada item en función de la relevancia del contenido (ver tabla 2). La aceptación de los alumnos fue constatada en las respuestas a una encuesta final, donde podían calificar como excelente, muy bueno, bueno, regular o malo el sistema de evaluación. Conclusión: La participación de los docentes en el diseño base del instrumento de evaluación permite debatir y redefinir los conceptos más relevantes de los temas del programa, esto da mayor validez al mismo así como la evaluación de los alumnos que en su mayoría calificó el método como excelente o muy bueno La repetición de esta aplicación en otros grupos permitirá evaluar la confiabilidad del mismo así como su aceptación.
