| Sumario: | The present research is based on an experience report from the meeting held in Alta Gracia, Cordoba where “The First National Agreement for Prevention of Complications, Diagnosis and Treatment of Toxoplasmosis” took place. Concepts validated by scientific literature were discussed and considered as a base for reasonable diagnostic proposals.The goals of this agreement were to discuss and think about diagnosis and practices of Toxoplasmosis in the national public system; to reach a consensus and propose an algorithm of diagnosis for the national public system; to analyze the gap between knowledge level and the application of practices and procedures in the general population as well as in risk groups; to discuss and propose activities to identify the risk of vertical transmission so as to bring screening strategies according to national prevalence; and finally to propose activities to reduce the gap knowledge/application within a framework of equity.All professionals agreed on signing the Alta Gracia Act which refers to the diagnosis of Toxoplasmosis made with equality and quality, the access to complex methodologies, technical cooperation and assessment and the timely availability of supplies in cases of jurisdictional emergencies in the public health area. |
