Methods: As regards methodology, qualitative and quantitative data from primary sources were used within exploratory/descriptive design frameworks. Results and conclusions: Results show the central role acquired by everyday eating during lockdown; guided by a preexistent pattern of practices and representations associated to the tension between health and pleasure leading to body weight control. Objetivos. Se describen y analizan las prácticas alimentarias de sectores medios del Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires durante el confinamiento, identificando cambios, continuidades y argumentos en función de representaciones sobre alimentación saludable que han estructurado esas prácticas en la prepandemia. Métodos. Metodológicamente se apeló a datos cuantitativos y cualitativos de fuentes primarias en el marco de diseños exploratorio/descriptivos. Resultados y conclusiones. Los resultados muestran la centralidad adquirida por la alimentación cotidiana durante el confinamiento, guiada por un patrón de prácticas y representaciones preexistente asociado con la tensión entre la salud y el placer, que se traduce en la vigilancia del peso corporal. Objetivos: descrevem-se  e analisam-se as práticas alimentares dos setores médios da Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires durante o confinamento, identificando mudanças, continuidades e argumentos baseados nas representações de alimentação saudável que estruturaram essas práticas na pré-pandemia. Métodos: Metodologicamente, usaram-se dados quantitativos e qualitativos de fontes primárias ​​no âmbito de designs exploratórios/descritivos. Resultados e conclusões: os resultados evidenciam a centralidade adquirida pela alimentação diária durante o confinamento, pautada por um padrão pré-existente de práticas e representações associado à tensão entre saúde e prazer, que se traduz na monitorização do peso corporal.
