| Sumario: | The film “Casas de Fuego” (Houses of Fire) by Juan Bautista Stagnaro is a popular resource in the teaching of Chagas at different levels. More than 25 years after its release, our interest in re-visiting the didactic use of the film came from a research into the undergraduate training in Chagas in biomedical careers at the National University of Río Cuarto (Córdoba, Argentina). In this study, we found spontaneous references to “Casas de Fuego” (both in interviews with students and in observed classes). Based on this “emerging” result we took a new look at its potentialities and limitations to understand Chagas today. In this article we present results of the analysis and some reflections as a contribution to update and complement the use of “Casas de Fuego” in classrooms. |
