Although the development is done from and for this discipline, its applications and possibilities may be incorporated to other professions which also help this population. It is a theoretical summary and a literature review from the professional practice with these subjects at a public hospital, aiming at increasing the value of diagnosis as a moment in methodology and systemic thinking as holistic paradigm. El objetivo del presente artículo es proponer un diagnóstico desde el Trabajo Social basado en el modelo sistémico para el abordaje de familias con hijos/as adolescentes en situación de vulnerabilidad social en el ámbito hospitalario. Aunque se trata de un desarrollo desde y para esta disciplina, sus aplicaciones y posibilidades podrían ser incorporadas al quehacer de otras profesiones que también asisten a esta población. Se trata de una síntesis teórica y de revisión bibliográfica a partir del ejercicio profesional con estos sujetos en un hospital público, que apunta a revalorizar el diagnóstico como momento de la metodología y al pensamiento sistémico como paradigma holístico. O objetivo deste artigo é propor um diagnóstico a partir do Serviço Social baseado no modelo sistêmico para a abordagem de famílias com crianças / adolescentes em situação de vulnerabilidade social no ambiente hospitalar. Embora seja um desenvolvimento a partir de e para esta disciplina, suas aplicações e possibilidades poderiam ser incorporadas ao trabalho de outras profissões que também atendem essa população. Trata-se de uma síntese teórica e revisão bibliográfica da prática profissional com esses sujeitos em umhospital público, que visa revalorizar o diagnóstico como um momento de metodologia e pensamento sistêmico como paradigma holístico.
