Sumario:In this article we analyze geographical differences in fees for attention at primary care facilities in the public sub-sector. Methodology is based on the analysis of secondary data. As source of information, 18,317 audits about health centers in the whole country performed by the Program Remediar between 2002 and 2015 are used. Additionally, interviews were performed to key informants from four Provincial Departments of Health.  As a result, we find that most primary care facilities in the county have no fees.  However, in certain departments in some provinces, fee for care is present in a high number of facilities. Regulatory frameworks, actors involved, and reasons for charging a fee vary according to different jurisdictions.
