| Sumario: | Abstract: Analysis of secondary database was performed to estimate breastfeeding and complementary feeding indicators in under 6-month-old children in Argentina based on the National Survey on Sex and Reproductive Health 2013 which used multistage sampling covering all the statistical regions of the country. Descriptive and multivariate analyses were performed on 3137 women who answered the breastfeeding module in the survey regarding the last child born alive. Results show that 65.9% of the infants was breastfed until 6 month of life or older; 43% received baby formula before 6 months, 58.5% was given water before 6 months, and 33.5% received semi-solid food before six months. We can conclude that identifying factors associated to certain eating practices in infants can orientate towards the promotion of adequate breastfeeding. |
