Sumario:Abstract The aim of this work is to make a diagnosis of children health conditions in the region “El Santoral”, in the Department of Canelones, using self-administered survey. The information about anthropometric variables was gathered: weight, height, body mass index, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as information regarding dietary habits, hygiene standards, accidents, leisure activities, smoking and alcohol consumption, sexuality and psycho-emotional aspects. Descriptive and analytical statistics were analyzed using Epi Info and SPSS software version 17. The differences between eating habits among rural and urban children and generalized low self-esteem among the children surveyed are significant conclusions to be considered when taking health related decisions.
