Sumario:T The paper addresses the issue of youth quotas in legislative institutions in Argentina. Despite the relevance that “youth” has acquired as a main issue in Argentina's public agenda during 21st century first decade, the discussion on youth quotas is still marginal. Particularly, regarding broader debates on the right to be elected as a key element of representative democracies for the effective realization of formal political participation. An analysis of the current age composition of the Argentinean Congress was carried out. In addition, a survey of bills on youth quotas in National Congress was realized. The potential of this mechanism on promoting and increasing youth political representation is discussed here, in the light of feminist political mobilization achievements during the recent years, particularly regarding women's political representation, through quotas and parity.
