This fact is easily verifiable through the recognition of the Argentinian steep decline, which took us from a prestigious worldwide tenth place of developmentin 1914, to our current insignificant Gross Domestic Product, with an inconsequential international trade, large inflation rates and high poverty and indigence levels. Since the period is too extensive, I have decided to circumscribe the period from the beginning of the military dictatorship of 1976 to date. Nevertheless, to avoid an excess of information that could become tedious and extended that would attempt to an enjoyable reading, it will be divided in two parts. The first part will go from 1976 to 2001 and the second, planned for a new paper, from 2002 to the present. The main intention of this paper is to stand out and prove the apocryphal and contradictory use of the most traditional and well known economic theories in Argentina. In this way, I will review the “native” versions, either liberal, Keynesian or populists, demonstrating the lack of rationality in its use and the damage made in the economic and social evolution of our country. Nuestra historia económica, particularmente la de los últimos 80 años, más allá de quienes hayan sido los protagonistas, los ideólogos y la génesis que dio origen a los distintos gobiernos, se constituye en una cadena interminable de desaciertos y contradicciones. Este hecho es fácilmente verificable con la profunda decadencia argentina, que nos condujo desde un selecto décimo lugar en nivel de desarrollo a nivel mundial en 1914, a la insignificancia actual de nuestro Producto Bruto Interno, con un comercio internacional intrascendente, elevados índices de inflación y altos niveles de pobreza e indigencia. Para no extenderel análisis a un período tan extenso, he decidido circunscribir el período desde el momento en que comienza la dictadura militar de 1976 a la fecha, aunque, como se explicita en la Introducción, para evitar un exceso de información que pueda llegar a ser tedioso e intenso que impida su lectura amena, está dividido en dos partes. La primera incluirá desde 1976 a 2001, y la segunda, previstapara un próximo trabajo, de 2001 hasta la actualidad. La intención de esta publicación, es destacar el uso apócrifo y contradictorio que se hizo en Argentina de las teorías económicas más tradicionales y reconocidas en el mundo. De esta manera, repasaré las versiones “nativas”, sean liberales, keynesianas o populistas, demostrando la falta de racionalidad en el uso de las mismas y el daño que ocasionaron en la evolución económica y social de nuestro país.
