| Sumario: | This paper analyzes the processes of justification, which constituted the National Program of Historical Compensation for retirees presented in Argentina, in order to unravel the problem of the lack of adjustment in pensions between 2002 and 2006. Based on Boltanski and Thévenot’s theory of justification, we reconstruct the visions of the government and the opposition. The government presented the initiative as a commitment between the industrial and the civic worlds, while the opposition condemns it as a mere arrangement. As a result, the paper shows how Argentinean politics, in more than a decade, could not arrive at a consensual solution to the problem. |
